Course details
The main courses in Pharmacy are 2 years Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) and 4 years Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma). B.Pharma. It is a 4 year undergraduate course. After completing the course, graduates will obtain the degree of 'Bachelor of Pharmacy'. After obtaining this degree, graduates can start practicing as pharmacists in India as well as abroad.
Science stream students are eligible to pursue B.Pharma course after completing 12th standard, from both Mathematics and Biology groups. The duration of the course is 4 years. The duration of 4 years is divided into 8 semesters, with each semester being of 6 months duration. In case of each semester, the students will face a theoretical external examination (main examination). In case of some semesters, practical examinations will also be conducted, which will have the subjects Hospital Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy and Community Pharmacy.
Science stream students (Mathematics and Biology both group- PCM/B), who have passed 12th class board exam from a recognized board are eligible to pursue this course.
For B.Pharma lateral entry, candidates who have obtained Diploma in Pharmacy with minimum 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST category) in the aggregate of the examination from AICTE and PCI approved institutes are allowed for admission. can be given. For the second year of the course, provided that Diploma in Pharmacy holders are directly admitted to B.Pharma II year, they will have to pass those subjects of B.Pharma Ist year which were not covered by them under D.Pharma course were.
For D.Pharma. Of course, candidates need to have successful qualification of 10+2 level of education in science stream from a recognized educational board. Minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at 10+2 level.
